Evaluation

Things are going good. Tomorrow we go for an evaluation for Zech. The main thing we will be looking at is his hearing. I don't know if we'll actually find anything out tomorrow or if they'll just schedule us to go to a specialist. I kinda think Zech was feeling a little insecure, so we haven't really done anything the past few days, just stay at the house. We've gone outside some and played ball. Mom and Dad have a tee ball set and Zech played with it. He's pretty good, wants to hold the bat with one hand though. I will probably pick one up tomorrow, I think it will help with his hand-eye coordination. I have to schedule an appointment with the school to try to get him in this fall, shouldn't be a problem. Tom went to work yesterday (his truck was broke down for a week). He's missing Zech. He says he wants my job of staying home with Zech. Little does he know being a "house wife/mom" is a lot of work! Well, will post later.

SS Card

We received Zech's SS card today. We still don't have his green card (I think that's what I'll be receiving). He went swimming all day, and is a little tired tonight. I had to go to a city leadership meeting today and a retirement party for a lady that worked for the chamber of commerce. Zech was the talk all day! Everyone is anxious to meet him and think he is adorable(they seen his picture in the paper). All is still going great!

Had a visit with a chiropractor

As some of you know, I do health and body scans(quantum biofeedback practitioner). I was working with a Chiropractor today that has a son that had pretty much the same intestinal issues that Zechariah has. Very encouraging! Seems I am on the right track. Zech has used the potty chair (Number one) several times and once for number 2. (Okay, I guess that might not be a subject everyone is interested in, but it's exciting to me!) He went to the store(and coffee shop) with me today. Megan took him to various places (bank, salon, etc...) they all loved him! Last night we bought him a riding toy (posted pic) and a cup with a straw ( he does pretty well, but I still "feed" him water) and some Elmo books. Yes, don't be in too much shock, but I broke down and went to Wal-Mart...Tom has it documented on his cell phone pics.

Kung FU Panda

Well, we went to see Kung Fu Panda last night, Zech loved it. He was amazed with the big screen and sounds. While we were there he started feeling warm, and today he has about a 101 fever. He is sleeping right now. He has started sneezing, but that's about it. I hope his fever is just a 24 hr thing. He is such a good little boy!! The picture here is just hanging out ready for bed. The video from yesterday's post was done by me, so it's a little dark, it would only record so far so the really fun stuff was missed. I'll do better next time.

Zechariah and his cd

Okay. I took this video, its a little dark, but we were having fun! It only would record so long, so I missed the really fun stuff (we put the cd in the dvd player instead of the computer and we were all dancing...quite a site!!) As you will hear, we are a pretty loud family..I guess Zech is glad since he can't hear real well.

It Went Well

Our social worker was here yesterday. Everything went great! She thought Zech was doing great! I hope to post some pics and video today. I'm waiting on my girls to help me. I have vista, so there are some things that are not compatible that we are working on. Macey bought Zech a cd that has songs with his name in it. Last night we played it for him and he absolutely loved it! He would get so tickled when he heard his name. His laugh and smile is just the most wonderful thing you've ever heard and seen! (I know I'm a little partial!!)I can't wait for everyone to see it, he gets a little shy when there are a lot of people around, so not everyone gets the chance to see it. Well, talk to ya's later!

Social Worker coming today.

Well, life is exciting! Zech is down for a nap, I'm trying to clean for the social worker (and just because I need to). It has been so busy! I'm about caught up on my sleep...finally! Lab work came back great on Zech. He is doing really well. He has a few bumps and bruises from mishaps here. He fell off the chair and his glasses hit the corner of his eye leaving a bruise, he fell off the deck(the deck is just about 6-8 inches off the ground), and burned himself on the grill. Boy have I forgotten how easy kids get hurt! It only takes a second! He is such a blessing! He is hilarious! He still has his moments when he is sad, but overall he is doing great! He is hearing better, they couldn't see his eardrums because of the wax, so we are trying to dissolve it. He absolutely loves the pool!!! He makes the sign for fish when he wants to swim, we told him he swims like a fish. Zech is the hit of the town. Everyone is stopping by to see him, there is an article in Sparta's paper yesterday on the adoption(I haven't got to read it yet). Okay, just thought I would post an update. Should have pics on soon.
Bye!

Boy are we tired!!!

We had an exciting day. First we went to Motherś Choice(the orphanage that Zech was first with, after 1 yr. he went to a foster home). We were able to play with the kids, OMG what a blessing!! I could not help but cry! I guess itś a good thing that they make you go through a lot of paper work, or we would be coming home with more!!I can honestly say I do not think there would be a single orphan if each and every Christian walked in an orphanage just to play for a while.(Not meaning everyone should adopt, there would just be more exposure). Okay, after that we went to Cheung Chau Island and went to see some temples and ate at some restaurant, do not even know some of the things I ate (which was very little). Then, we went to the Hong Kong Park. That was fun! Seen lots of birds (over 600 kinds), plants, fish. Zech had a great time too, we are all wore out. I have been saying 40 is the new 30, and my husband said ¨ yeah, right!!¨ We have muscles hurting that we did not know we even had!! Itś hard to post pics. So, I will post more when I get home. When you see the pics, remember it is 90-98 percent humidity and super hot! We were sweating within one minute of being outside....and I thought TN was bad...no way!! Bye for now, Rhonda
